INBOXtext / audio / video / action....so do I go now? I can't tell if - oh! Ah yes, hello. You've reached Dorian Storm. I'm sorry I'm unavailable at the moment, but leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Thank you, Henry. I appreciate your efforts in putting all this together.
I'm afraid it's pretty much what I worried would happen though. I haven't had the chance to meet Miss Swann, so what might be the best way to go about this?
Well, I happen to know Bella! I can see if I can get some hints for places for you to start.
[ An hour or so later, he texts back. ]
Bella said she's interested in books by a couple authors from Earth: Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. If you can find something by one of them, that would make a swell gift! Anything but Good Omens should be good— she's already read that one.
You've got a few different options there. You can drop it off where she lives (I'll give you her address), or you can bring it to me and I'll deliver it for you, or if you would rather, you can probably ask the bookstore to hold onto it for her to come and pick up.
[Dorian will find, wrapped in pretty paper and tied with a collection of vines that bursts into a group of bright blue flowers on top somewhere that he is unable to miss it. There's a tag on it that very clearly proclaims For Dorian.
Inside the package is a carved wooden box, decorated with simple, neat carvings of swirls of wind interspersed with leaves and flowers. It's clearly handmade, and let's be real it's no Chetney Pock-o-Pea level skill, but it's solid and heartfelt, which is very Orym in general. When he opens it, there's a soft melody playing out in the light bell-like tones of a music box. ...that part he had help with, of course, from an artisan in town.
The note attached reads: For Dorian - Happy Winter's Crest. I know it's a weird place to be, but I am so glad you're here. This is for you. Since you're always the one giving everyone else music, I thought you deserved some too. - Orym']
[Natsume has never been part of a gift exchange before, and he takes it extremely seriously. Once given his assignment, he spends a lot of time in his tiny cat form stalking around and gathering all the information he can about Dorian. It would be a little creepy, if he weren't so earnest about it.
A few days before Christmas, a package arrives on Dorian's doorstep, carefully wrapped with an excessive amount of ribbons. Everyone likes ribbons.
Inside there are several jars of applesauce and apple butter, made from the autumn's harvest. Folded neatly beneath that is a scarf, made of soft warm sky-blue fibers, embroidered with silvery stars. It's clearly home-made, the stars a bit crooked, but it's warm and will stave off the chill.
Most importantly, Natsume has embroidered a protective ward in the silver thread, one that will prevent most minor damage and repel any malevolent forces. He's added a small note explaining this, finishing with:]
I hope this keeps you warm while you're flying about. Merry Christmas :)

Is there a general place where these will be delivered? Or would I leave it where she lives?
[ Which he...also doesn't know. Sorry, Henry. ]
